Kite Fabrics- You will be blown away!

Well, February is drawing to a close and many of us are longing for Spring.  March always brings Spring to mind even if the temps don't always cooperate!  Spring makes me think of tulips, daffodils and KITES!  Take a look at some of these great kite print fabrics that I found...they make me soooo happy! Can't you just imagine some great projects using these fun fabrics?

This adorable "Giraffes making Memories" is a custom printed fabric and original design from KBExquisites.
This would make such a great wall hanging for a child"s room.  Or how about...
...some Spring napkins made from this Dear Stella Clementine design.  It's called Kites in Multi and I think it is awesome!  And what if you folded those kite napkins in the shape of kites on your table?  Cool!
I am crazy about anything with printed words so these Newsprint Kites on really intrigue me...

Is your imagination "taking flight" yet?  Here is a neat flannel that would sew up nicely into some cozy pj's for when the cold March wind blows!  It's a Anne Kelle design for Robert Kaufmann.
Buntings are so "in" right now.  How about using your scraps and making this cute Kite Bunting?

Finally...this isn't really a kite fabric but I had to show you this beautiful fabric block.  It's a reproduction of an illustration by Shirley Kite (get the connection?).  I'm not sure what I would do with it but I just may need to buy one and think about it for awhile.....
You can find this one at KatyDidsFabrics
I hope these goodies have inspired you to Think Spring!  Stay warm in the meantime!

Seeing Red

It's February... National Heart Health Month and Valentine's Day...and that has me seeing red!  Red is one of those colors that can add a real punch to home decor or accessories.  I found this awesome book full of great sewing projects and heart healthy recipes and tips plus it has full sized patterns.  And a donation is given to heart charity from each great is that?

Take a closer look here.

Now that you have some inspiration, you will need some great red fabric.  How about these great dots and stripes from Ikea.  They're pretty and bargain priced.

Or maybe some neat trim or these vintage rose beauties on etsy.
I love these hedgehogs...what is it about hedgehogs?! They are available at Button Boutique along with an amazing collection of gorgeous German made all colors!
There are such nifty vintage trims out there too.  I am crazy about this cutie that I found on Etsy.
How about you?  Are you red-dy to start a new project?
